shooting on super 16 - 16:9, ediitng in 4:3, problems, concerns, solutions?

hi we are currently about to shoot a short film on super 16 in 16:9 ratio, however, our universitys avid editing system only views at 4:3 so we have concerns about "editing blind" and the cropping issue, but we want to finish on 16:9. can anyone offer me tips or suggestions or way to get round this...i would really appreciate any help on this issue. thank you. karl.
