Re[2]: Error Codes Assistance

Arie and Nick,
This might be a moot point by now, but I've just now fixed that error (H02). I think Nick was onto something, Arie. I opened the case and started the head spinning. It worked great then. But, I couldn't leave well enough alone. I pushed the clips that hold the reading head in place and removed the whole mechanism to have a look at it. I DO NOT recommend that! But, I got it back in place and now things are hunky-dori. My theory is that, like most electro-mechanical devices, this problem is mechanical in nature. I believe what's happened is a mechanical misalignment in the reading head carriage. Back in the dark ages, I was a electrical engineer who specialized in computer-controlled machinery (CNC). But I still remember a few things. At $50 each, I'll get a new one if it quits again.

I want to say thanks for the great ideas on fixing this problem. I took mine apart and got the head to start spinning. It recognizes the DVD, but when it plays, it starts to skip. After a few minutes, it will eject the DVD. I put in a cleaning disc and the cleaning disk does its job, but the skipping continues. Does anyone have any suggestions?
