problems with ejecting dvcam tapes

I work at the KC Star in video.. we use a dual deck JVC SR-VS30 for dubbing tapes. Once in a while the tape jams in the system and won't eject. The power goes out and the Auto message appears on the display. We have the problem right now, as a matter of fact. How do we get the tape out? Why does this problem occur? D Helling
