Type of device: “DVD VHS HDD recorder” DR-MX1SE (090B1139).
There are two problems with this device:
1. Only while dubbing from vhs deck to hdd or dvd, sometimes there’s jitter of picture vertically with some non-copy protected cassettes. Sometimes it goes with degradation of upper part of picture. It does not depend on adjustment of still-image (when still-image is adjusted properly or totally misadjusted, there’s the mentioned defect (p.42 of manual)). The jitter does not depend on BEST option on or off (p.45), which is to correct defects of picture while playing back. Also the jitter is present when trying to adjust picture by manual tracking option (p.43). But when simply playing back the same place on the same cassette without dubbing, the picture is ideal, no degradation, no jitter. I underline, this defect is visual only when dubbing is absent while playing back. It does not matter if the unit was working for along time and already worm or just started working, the jitter when dubbing is there. Option of record quality (XP, SP or below) does not impact also.
I have a few questions:
Is it normal (this jitter when dubbing) for this model of recorders or this is to be considered a defect?
Can this jitter be eliminated through rewriting some kind of basic input output system of this recorder or by any other simpler safe way (by changing hidden manufacturer options)?
Where else can I ask about the same issue in the internet?
2. When receiving cable TV signal in DVD or VHS mode, it’s needed to choose the type of received signal in setup options – pal or secam (p.79). But the problem is – a few channels are broadcasted in pal, a few are in secam mode. Of coarse when choosing one mode in setup options other channels become black & white and vice versa. For example in VHS mode you can select one of three options – pal, secam or auto (p.82). In auto mode everything’s fine and all the channels are tuned as required. In DVD or VHS mode there’s no auto mode to select, but if I need to record a few pal and secam channels simultaneously this will become a problem, because some channels will be recorded in color, some in black & white mode with diagonal lilac stripes. When initially setting up the unit I chose eastern Europe as a region where I live (p.17).
Here are the questions:
Can this issue be eliminated through rewriting some kind of basic input output system of this recorder or by any other simpler safe way (by selecting different (which?) region)?
Can a decoder purchase help me to eliminate this problem? (p.77)?
Could the problem be avoided, if instead of initial setup procedure I did preset download (p.18) – downloading tuned channels from TVset via TV-link (unfortunately TVset scart socket is not available, but if it was)?
Where else can I be helped with this question?
Do you know anything about previews and testing of this product in the internet?
Thank you for reading this letter.
