Help with my camera

I just inherited a Sony DCR-TRV10 Camcorder. Unfortunately, no instructions on how to transfer files from cam -> computer. any ideas? I already have a non-sony, but with firewire 1394 card. i have connected it, but then what? do i need software or something. any help would be greatly appreciated.
