Re: SONY DSC-T1 LCD SCREEN REPLACEMENT PARTS

Nicolas Posted Jan 02, 2006, in response to:Thomas D

I'm considering buying a replacement screen for my DSC-T1, is there any soldering or difficult stuff required? Or is it quite straightforward? Thanks! Nicolas

No, its not quite that simple for the average person to do!! You need to carefully disassemble the camera, dont break any of the ribbon cable tabs. Dont worry too much about the flash capacitor, just dont touch its connectors; its a good little zap but it wont kill you. Peel apart the cables for the LCD and the backlight. Line up the new LCD cable, tape them together if you cant solder. Then start putting the camera back together and place a small piece of folded over paper under the white plastic piece the flash and the lens sit on. This will hold the two ribbon cables together. Line up the mode selector switch with the case as you put it all back together. Now try the camera; if the backlight doesnt work, you need something slightly thicker under the flash to hold the cables tightly. www.darntoothysam.com eBay ID: darntoothysam Thomas

The SONY DSC-T1 LCD screen can be fixed easily. First discharge the capacitor by a Lamp with two wires extending so that the stored power is discharged by the lamp. Then you need +type small screw driver and a Tweezers to pull and fix the flexible cable connector. costs US$93.60 and we send by registered Air mail post Free of Cost. Availability: Ex-Stock Payment: Advance through Paypal. Our Paypal ID is : videolabs@sonyspares.com Regards, sivaram.V
