Re: Error Codes Assistance

Bruce Cheney Posted Dec 28, 2005, in response to:Stacy Sample

I have an old RCA small wonder vhs playback cc176 That has worked fine for several years I let my brother in law use it and it has not worked since. It has a error code E04 and sometimes EO3. I have cleaned the head with alcohol and that did not fix it. I lost the owners manual a long time ago and dont know even how to get rid of the code or know what the codes are. What should I do take it to the shop or buy a new one? If I take it to the shop it will cost as much as buyig a new one. Is that what I should do. Or do you know how to go about fixing this one. I would thank you very much for any info on this old unit. I hate to throw it away it worked very well when it worked. Thanks Bruce
