parts for vo-5850

i own a Sony vo-5850 recorder that now fails to record audio/insert as well onto tape. EE audio is fine. the erase head works but little if any distorted audio is recorded. can my record/plyback relay for the audio circiut be bad! video is fine. can a person purchase such a relay.
