Any fixes on the standy timer of TV? It seems to be the main problem on this TV just by reading all the posts on Sony TV's

I haven't seen any replies to this type of problem. am I missing the responses? couldn;'t find it at the moment. Shall i just throw away the TV instead of trying to find a solution to this problem? Might be costly anyway.
