Re: JVC service or questions

Dean Hasler Posted Dec 06, 2005, in response to:Stacy Sample

I have a low hours (<100) JVC AV-27530 that appears to have lost the red and green guns. I returned it to the retailer for service (it's within the 1 yr. parts and labor warranty period). Their repair shop indicated the main board was cracked and that this was not covered under warranty. I brought the TV home and opened it up. The board is cracked under the flyback transformer, as though the board was hit on top of the transformer. This board is very poorly supported in this unit. Frankly, I don't see how I could have done this damage, since the TV sits on the floor, and there is NO indication that it's ever been dropped. I think the unit was shipped with a cracked board, and it just took this long for the traces to open. How can this not be covered under warranty?
