I got mine fixed. It was a bad imager/CCD base. My husband fixed it because we didn't have $300 for the shop to fix it. Mine was about 5 months out of warranty. It cost $60 with shipping for the new part. It was a very tedious job fixing it, but my camera works beautifully. I couldn't buy this quality of camera for the price we fixed it for.
