A little "slap" might not do it, i tried a gentle cuff, nothing, a "determined whack", nothing, finally i gave it a "calibrated wallop", eureeka ! ! ! I have more than 30 years experience as a tech, later as an engineer and now a programmer. I fix almost anything myself except televisions and was determined to fix this. I have watched this thing cycle a hundred times looking for limit switches, sensors, mechanical travel. I have cleaned what could be cleaned, greased the places that had old dry grease - all to no avail. This camera has been from the canadian border of maine all the way to florida. it has spent the last 3 years in a backpack in mexico, climbing mountains, exploring caves, jumping off small cliffs on a mountain bike and more. I know i got my money out of it, but it was still filming crystal clear and i hated to junk it. for what sony charges to fix it, you could buy a new one onsale, but every year sony takes away more features, and my last sony lasted 13 years, i hated to junk this one at only three 1/2. SO - GRACIAS A DIOS - for this website. But please stop calling it "Slapping" and use the correct technological term "Calibrated Wallop" - Adios - a two hundred year old hacienda with adobe block walls and palm thatch roofs is calling me to be filmed - I had captured something very special on my Sony camcorder and I was desperate as I couldn't play it back because of this error. Gave it one small slap and hey presto, working perfectly. Cannot thank you enough. You guys are the BEST !! i just slapped the tape side of the camera and the error code 31z;22 cleared !!. You all just saved me a couple of bucks. Thx so MUCH !! |
