SONY 1GB STICK - DATA RECOVERY

I have a data recovery issue on my 1GB card that I just purchased. I went on a cruise and over 100 pictures are lost. Sony will not do data recovery and told me to call Drive savers and they told me they charge 351.00. Anyone have any other ideas how to get the pictures back?
