Re: JVC service or questions

Lalla Posted Nov 18, 2005, in response to:Stacy Sample

Hello, I live in La Habra, CA (90631). I have my neighbor's GR-AXM151 camcorder. They have spent 2 weeks trying to find out why it doesn't show anything....it turns on and you see "Paused" but you can never actually SEE anything thru the view finder or the LCD (and yes! the lens cap is Off!). I'm usually pretty good figuring out things like this, but this thing has me stumped. It will show a blue screen with black lines and if I try to zoom, it turns to black and then red, but nothing showing thru the lens or LCD. I'm assuming that "something" has gone out...WAYYYY OUTTTT...but not sure what kinda of problems these tend to have. I am using this while it is plugged in by the way, not running from a battery. They have the most adorable 4 kids, including one that is just now taking his first steps and they really need to get this working by Christmas...if anyone has ran into this problem before, please email me! If its un-repairable or repairing is too much, then I would like to try and find a way to get them a new one (but NOT a JVC!). Thanks so much, Lalla

having same problem with mother's exact camcorder. a kid from school in the AV class told my son it's a cracked lens. Who knows if those little nerds know for sure! :) I am on here looking for availability and price of new lens and how to replace.
