Wide Digital Projection Tv ..model # KP-41DS1U is it now obselete !!

I have a Wide Digital Projection Tv ..model # KP-41DS1U recently the Tv started producing sound but no picture the screen is just black, after taking it to a engineer i was told all 3 tubes had blown & was qouted £1000.00 to repair it but was told that the green tube was no longer available to buy & that my tv was no more than scrap now. Could anyone tell me if this is the case pls. Many thanx
