I have a Sony camera DSC-W1 and The battery compartment lid locking mechanism is broken. So can you tell me where I can buy this piece.

  You can buy it from the sonys part and accessories website. It is called a battery holder with terminal. it was $33. I just had the same problem and I have ordered it but cant seem to put it in. Goodluck.

    Did you ever get the battery compartment to your Sony W1 installed. I have the same latching problem and tried to remove the compartment but it didn't come right out and I am afraid to force anything too much.

      I have the same problem and have ordered and received the replacement battery holder, but it came without any installation instructions. Did you receive instructions? If yes, can you please send me a copy.
