Lost convergence for a Hitachi 53UWX10BA

Sam Posted Nov 02, 2005

I lost convergence for red.

I was curious If someone could give me some guidance on what I should purchase and how I should go about replaceing the chip myself or is this something I should leave to the "pros". By the way, the pros want to charge me a minimum of $195 labor/ $65 for the service call/ and $80 for the parts, $340 total.

I forgot the $$$. If you can take out the board yourself (mot hard). See http://www.hdtvoice.com/voice/forumdisplay.php?f=6 and other threads about our HDTV. IC's were approx 32$ plus shipping. Soldering cost $30.00 That's it. Works great. Chip

Hey Sam, I am doing some research on setting my 53uwx10ba up after having the chips soldered in by a TV tech. Bought them at Electronix in Ohio online. Get the STK392-110 IC's, they are a newer version. Look at this forum. Lots of info and this is what steered me in the right direction. Chip
