There is a "DEW SENSOR" located inside your camcorder that inhibits operation when it senses very high humidity conditions. More than likely the "DEW SENSOR" has failed. You may be lucky enough in that you can aim a hair dryer or another source of heat into the location around the cylinder assembly and the problem may clear.
