HomeThis TV is only a 2002 model (AV-27230)it is showing vertical lines across the top that interfere with the picture. Husband says "defrag it" Is this right? How do I do that, can I fix this myself? Thanx MO

He probably said to "Degauss it", but I doubt it will help. Are you sure the lines aren't horizontal (from left to right). If they indeed are horizontal lines the Vertical Output Circuit requires servicing (probably a Filter Capacitor). If the lines are real close to the top you may be able to provide a temporary fix by entering service mode and adjusting vertical size and centering. Eric |
