problem with Sony vaio Pcg-5316

please help if u can

I have Sony Vaio pcg-5316 model. the system has no floppy or cd rom as well as no operating system installed in it. I have an external usb cd rewriter which I have tried to use to install windows xp, but the system does not recognise the drive. I am desperate to get this system operational. Any ideas? thanks in advance.

i have the external cd-rom for this model, i need the recovery discs to sort mine out, where abouts are you and do you have the discs so we can swap to sort our laptops out??

Hi, I have the same notebook without the CD drive, but I have a USB floppy drive, I have managed to find a PCMCIA cd drive with dos drives on floppy & installed windows this way.
