JVC GL-DVL510U Tape jam, no power

JVC GL-DVL510U Tape jam, no power Ken - 30th Oct 2005 21:36 Kgibwire@aol.com I have a JVC GL-DVL510U which up until it got stuck worked very well. I was putting in a new tape and it went in kind of "funny." I am not sure if it was backward or what, but I cannot get it to eject. I have no power indication at all. Like it is completely dead. I can get the outer hatch to open, but the auto open is dead. I vaguely remember that at first it showed some life, but then nothing. I checked the AC adapter and am getting ~ 16 VDC, I have tried two different batteries. Still nothing.... Any way to manually get the tape mechanism to open and get the jammed tape out? It seems this started the whole problem. Cannot tell what brand tape it is, since it is stuck. If I get it I guess I should use only highest grade tapes. Any ideas? Ken
