I've seen similar problems. Wondering if there is a realignment adjustment that can be reset via the remote and inserting different type discs. It sound like an alignment problem, as the clicks and skips are audible before the no disc error messages. I've had to resort to washing the discs. For some reason this has helped with playability. These discs aren't visibly dirty and do play on other systems.
