HomePanasonic SA-DK10 won't play CD's without skipping and getting hung up. It will, however, play DVD's effortlessly. I have a Panasonic SA-DK10. Over the past few months it has gradually gotten worse about getting hung up when playing CD's. Sometimes it hangs up for a second and other times it gets hung up indefinitely. When it hangs up, no sound comes out of the speakers. I've tried cleaning the lens several times with one of the cleaner CD's with the little brushes on it to no avail. Tonight my SA-DK10 seems to not be able to read any tracks above track 2 on any of my CD's except every 10th try or so. When it does read a track above Track 2, it will only read about 2 seconds of the track before it gets hung up. Once that happens, I can't get it to read anything unless I open and close the CD drawer. When it gets hung up, I can hear the motor that moves the optical eye operating as if it is trying to find its place on the CD. The weird thing is that my unit plays DVD's without any problems at all! Maybe that's no so weird to someone who knows what's going on. Does anyone out there have any idea what the problem is and what I can do to fix it?

I had also the same problem. I changed the lens unit and is now working. But now I have trouble with its spindle motor. Due to the spindle motor only, I damaged the lens 3022A I have the same problem DVD either will not spin or if it does it will skip. After doing a little research I have found out that the SA DK20 has the same problem.... So, Live and learn. Stay away from the Panasonic Brand. I have to buy a new dvd unit and its not going to be Panasonic. I got the same problem except my does the same thing with DVD's also. I noticed that the CD slows down and thats when the it skips. I think It's a mechanical problem or something, if anyone knows how to fix it let us know. Bump....(last time) Bump |
