Just wanted 'whomever' posted the fix for the big block in the middle of the screen - it WORKED!! I went back and pushed the closed caption or (cc) tab on the JVC remote and it had been set to text. I'm not sue what button I pushed to take the text off - but it probably was the cc button again, and that turned the text off. Anyway I wanted to thank someone for their help on this. My husband bought the set on sale, but the Dealer did not have a user's manual to go with the TV. Which leaves us up a creek when things happen and you have no eartly idea how to fix.
