JVC GR-D30U and working it with digital editing on the computer

i was wondering, beucase i know the more advanced models of the GR-D30U have USB cables and i was wondering if my model i have is able to hook up to the computer using the DV i plug insert and have it go into the s400 in the side of my laptop--im a little confused with the different directions for different models all in the same handbook please respond!!!!! thanks
