Sony PS -LX510 tuntable control arm problem, i think it's the control arm motor belt

I have a Sony PS -LX510 tuntable that has the control arm which rides along a rod. The control arm 'sticks' at times causing the record to skip. I tried cleaning and lubricating the rod which helps butthe problem wont go away. It looks like the tiny control arm motor belt is slipping. i think it might be stretched out and need replacing. I beleive the Sony part number is 40887-490-01. Can you help me out? thanks, Larry
