jvc camcorder take lens cap off error message

only records sound pause button on take lens cap off messages. screen is blue. can't see nothing thru eye to record. 2nd model i got thru jvc. i st one was replaced by this model. is it the ccd sensor? the camera is 8 mos. old.there should be a recall for these models.
