Re[3]: FIX!!! for Self Diagnosis C:31:22

Frank S Posted Sep 27, 2005, in response to:Ernie

I had the C:31:23 & C:31:22 error on my Sony TRV318. I turned off the camcorder, removed the battery for 60 seconds. Then I inserted the battery & put a new tape in. NOTHING HAPPENED BECAUSE SONY'S KNOWLEDGE BASE did not let me know that if I hit the camera a couple of times with the palm of my hand that that would fix the camera. I am shocked it worked kind of like that car radio I had when I was 17. Thanks foe the help guys Frank

Just got the error message C:31:22..reinsert cassette. After 1/2 an hour online with Sony, no repair. She suggested I send it in and get it repaired for a minimum of $111. I ALMOST entered my credit card info and sent the thing in but decided to research the code..found this site..slapped it a couple of times on the palm of my hand and wahoo..I'm watching video from Jamaica! Whew..we're leaving in just a few short days to go back to jamaica..didn't want to go without the camcorder!! THANK YOU for the advice!! Will keep it in mind forever!!

Unbelievable! After taking my TRV330 halfway apart yesterday and getting it to finally eject a tape after 2 YEARS, then having it stop ejecting again today, I was feeling desperate and ready to try anything. I slapped the camera one way and then another. Nothing. I banged it against my knee and then the arm of the desk chair. Nothing. Then I went spazz-tastically crazy on the thing. It worked! I'm thrilled! I'm 2 days from having to film a big competition for my girls' gymnastics team, so this is a huge deal for me! Needless to say that I threw away the tape that had been stuck in the camera for so long. It was so overused that it was beginning to skip. @_@ I guess if the darn thing gives me any trouble while I'm out of town, I'll just beat it like it owes me money!! Thanks, guys!! ^_^
