Need help with my Sony TV KV-20V60

My tv will power on and after a few minutes the screen will go black for about 2 seconds and then come back. It will continue to do so. I have noticed that the brighter the picture the more frequent the blinking, also if the tv is in video 1 or 2 mode with nothing being transmitted the screen will not blink on and off, you can see the green "video 1" message in the top left corner but as soon as you send a signal it will start blinking.
