jvc-grd20 problems with E04 code

When i start my JVC GR-D20EK i receive a message saying unit in safeguard mode and a code EO4 also a message saying re-inset tape. Yet when i try to unload my tape the cassete holder will not open and appears to be jammed, if anyone could help please email me

I'm having the same problem with my JVC GR-DVL120U. Just came to the internet with a search and discovered a treasure trove of "E04" links in google. Bummer. The thing captures such great images...
