My Playstation 2 is having issues with playing DVDs.

It seems like it gets to a certain point on the disk and can no longer read it. Although I have not timed it, it seems like it has this problem at the same point on any DVD, about an hour and 15 minutes + -. Is this a common problem w/ the PS2s? What can be done to remedy it?
