I have a sonly DCR-TRV340 that will not accept a new tape. It gives a C3140 error code. The tape mechanism will close properly when there is no tape in the drive however when you put a tape in the machine and push the "door" closed nothing else happens it justed flashes C3140 and a few chimes sound. Please help or is it time for a new recorder?

Did you ever received an answer? I have reset my camera and still I get the message. It records to the memory stick but not to the tape. Thanks
