Small problem, Big price?

The selector, rotator, button (however you describe it!) just fell off in my hands when I tried to turn the camcorder on! Is this one of those "No job is to big or too small for a JVC repair center? Can I fix it myself and make my house payment this month? Thanks for any help. Steve
