I have been using my TA-F40 almost daily since the mid-80s, and it just gave up the ghost. Looks like the same xformer is toast in mine, but I'm considering just replacing the whole switching power supply. Do you have a schematic, or know what the output voltage of that supply is supposed to be? I can find no indications on the unit.

No, I've had no luck in getting any details on the transformer or power supply specs. Still looking though. Would love to get this thing running again.
