more troubleshooting advice for home theater systems

I just bought my system and I could not get colour from the dvd (the tv colour is fine) so I went to choice button and went to picture I changed it to "s" video it now will not show anything on the screen except video in the far right corner of my tv screen but no picture is there a reset button to change back from this selection and how do I get colour on the screen everthing is black and white. Help!!!!!!!!!
