has anyone used the software downloadable from leahamradio web page to dvin enable a trv9e?

hi i have recently purchased a euro version sony trv9e with dv dissabled i have found out that free software is downloadable from webpage leahamradio. has anyone out there used this software? Is it safe? Are there any hints/tips etc Trying to find out as much as possible before initiating the procedure any info much appreciated thanks jon
