When I turn on my video camera it shown a black screen and the message LENS CAP (although my lens cap has been removed)

When I turn on my video camera it shown a black screen and the message LENS CAP (although my lens cap has been removed). It does not mather if I use Auto or Manual mode. The strange thing is that I do not always see this behavious, sometimes it works normally. Any idea what this could be
