Everyone seems to be having a problem with a disc reding error and i figured out how to fix it

me and my brother were thinking and we saw on here lots of different ways of fixing it but none of them worked, so we took the PS2 apart and lifted up the lens cover and realised that the disc tray was to high, and it the discs got stuck as they sat on it. We then took out the disc tray and the disc spun perfectly so we have been using it without the lenscover or the main cover properly ever since and it has read the discs.
