My sony CCDV5000E

A few tips on repairing this beast please

G'day, Ive just read a couple of the paragraphs concerning the problems that people are having with their 15 year old (or so) CCDV5000E digital effects camera.. I'm having similar troubles, Everything fires up as it should, but it will not play back picture eventhough sound is present. And now lately, whenever I try to record, it just gives me static through the viewfinder.. I've got 2 of them that I picked up from a garage sale last year ($5.00 WOW!!) I figured that I could get them going, and If I could'nt, then its only 5 bucks.. The kicker is that it comes with a professionally built underwater case. This case is balanced in the water and has basic remote controls like zoom, auto focus, power on.. I'd love to get it going. It seems that the majority of problems exist with these electrolitic capacitors.. and changing them usually revives the camera.. Is there anything special that I should know about changing these components, special tools, testing equipment etc.. Also.. If I throw in the towel, I am interested in selling the camera case, pics can be organised.. give me a email..
