I got a new lens for my Sony CDMavica250 and now it will not focus correctly...

I've had the Sony CDMavica250 for almost three years now and decided it was time to get a new lens so I can fit more into images. I got the Sony VCL-MHG07 wide conversion lens, and now I cant focus on ANYTHING. The AF light IS being covered by the new lens, so I had to disable that...but I was wondering if there is something else I can do.
