needing help to reset tv or something

I have a JVC Tv model # AV-27920. The problem I am having is it worked one minute the next it does but doesn't. It turns on with a blue screen for about 15 sec. then the screen turns black and by the power button a red light starts to flash. I thought it might be that someone had hit the sleep timer on it. I went on bought a universal remote for it followed instructions but the tv turns to black screen to fast for me to program the remote to tv.I have left the tv on for a few days now in hopes that maybe the timer would run down. No luck there. I don't even know how to go about resetting the tv all together. Can someone please help me?I would greatly appreciate it if they could. Thank you for your time and trouble, Frany
