JVC GRD30U digital camcorder "Lens Cap" error. Like many others here (and hundreds of othes that I've read at other internet forums) my camera reports that the lens cap is on (when it isn't) and will record sound, but no picture. Has anyone found a solution, or received a reasonable reply from JVC about this issue? I am reluctant to throw good money after bad & have it repaired. I have read that others have paid $250+ for this repair from JVC only to have it recur. This unit was hardly used and treated with extreme care-- it looks as if JVC has made another enemy for life.
