There is no picture on the LCD Screen nor throught the view finder.

When turning on the camcorder, which is fully charged, the screen stays black the only thing on it, is the low contrast warnings at the bottom of the screen. There is plenty of light in the area I'm trying to tape in. Also, the Lens Cap message appears when I turn on the camera even thought the Lens cap is not on??
