Clicking sound on television

I have a 8 year old 27 inch JVC tv, the other night it turned off by itself and starting making a clicking sound. I can not turn the tv back on manually or with remote. I unplugged it and then plugged it back in, but still the same thing. Can anyone help me with this problem or is it shot. And I just need to purchase a new one. Let me know. Thanks.
