Problem with GRD72US miniDV.

Hi I bought JVC GRD72US mini DV when I was in US previous year. Now I am in Chennai, India. After a gap of nearly 3 months I tried to use my camcorder. After charging my battery for 4 hours I tried to make the Auto-focus. Focus was not proper. It was showing vertical colored lines al through the LCD monitor. Even tried without LCD focus. Then also it showed the same. After 10 minutes when I tried to focus it was clear focus. Same thing happens to be for Manual mode too. I feel there happens to be battery problem. Could you please let me know what could be the exact problem? If the lens is causing problem, why should I get it clear after 10 minutes! Seems to act weird. Rgds Anand
