VCR help

Ive got a problem, my vcr is registering that it has no tape in it, but there is a tape in there. I tried to eject it, pressed play, anything to get the tape to work, but nothing, the VCR thinks there is no tape in it. The timer and tape button both blink so its thinking there is no tape, can anyone help me figure this out, thanks
