JVC 27" TV -- No sound Channels 7-9

Apologies in advance for asking what may be considered a question with a simple answer, but I would appreciate your courtesy. When connecting various co-axial cables to a relatively-late model 27" JVC television set, I've discovered that the television does not feature any sound on channels 7-9 with the co-axial cable inserted. The television does, however, have sound on such channels when the cable is not inserted (albeit such sound takes the form of white noise/snow). Could anyone shed a bit of light on this issue?
