i have the exact same problem... jvc GR-D30U, "LENS CAP" warning blinks. no image. cant seem to fix it. perfect. just a few months out of warranty too! seems to be a very common problem from what im reading.. Hi Alan I have same problem with my GR-D50,only option is to send it to your local service centre ( expensive ).I hope with you honeymooning in Australia that you are living elsewhere as JVC service is non Excistent in this country.They have many email adresses but you'll never get an answer.
