Hi, I have a GR - DVL355E camcorder which keeps giving me the "E03 error message, unit in safe mode remove & re attach battery" after several attempts the unit still fails to work, i have tried head cleaning tapes with success at first but now do not make the recorder work. The shop i have taken it to say the "heads are no good" and £134.00 will rectify the problem. I borrowed my dads unit which was bough from the same shop at the same time and has not shown any error messages. changed from his tape (sony DV Premium) to my tape (panasonic me 60) and this unit now shows the error message. I quickly put another tape in and the unit worked fine again. Can there be a problem with some duff metal tapes i`m using, or is the message a genuine fault with the unit. I dont want to part with any money if the shop are trying it on. Regards, Martin
