handycam reaccuring problems..lost tv adapter

I am wondering of any known reaccuring problems that this cam has about visual effects. I keep having the same problem when i go to play it, i hear the sound, but can see no picture. I have had it fixed 2 times before, and it is doing it again. And it is only 2 years old, and not used often.Have you heard of this problem often, and is there something i can get to clean/fix this problem at home, instead of speniding so much to get it fixed so often? ALSO, i lost the cord that hooks up to the tv from the cam..Where can i get a replacement? Thanks so much!
